A Message in Uncertain Times

Considering the recommendations of various health and government agencies, we believe it is important for the wider Church to support the mitigation of the COVID-19 pandemic to protect and save lives.

As believers in Jesus Christ we are called to, “Love our neighbor.”  Saint Albans Church has, therefore, decided to suspend its normal activities and become a "virtual church" for the foreseeable future.

Beginning Sunday, March 22, our services and other activities will go online in an effort to reduce the possibility of further spread of the disease.

Rest assured, however, the the people of Saint Albans will be making every effort to bring the love of Christ to our neighbourhood in other charitable ways.  As a result, we welcome those who are in need, or those who know of others in need, to contact us to see if there is some way we might help.

In the meantime, we join with Saint Paul in proclaiming that "neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, or things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will ever separate us from the love of God in our Lord Jesus Christ."  (Romans 8.38-39)
Sunday Worship
Our church home may be closed for the next few weeks, but our worship life continues through our online services.

On Sunday, April 26, we join in virtual worship.  The we celebrate the Third Sunday of Easter, with the Rector as our preacher.  The Service is available at 10.00 am.

Daily Prayer

Both corporate and individual prayer are integral to the life of the Anglican tradition over the centuries. We join together each Sunday to worship God and give thanks for his goodness.  Similarly, during the week, Anglicans pray the Daily Office individually or in small groups.  Our worship comes from the Book of Common Prayer (1662). Below are links to the Daily Office which may be used in lieu of regular services.

The Daily Office

Daily Morning and Evening Prayer are broadcast each day from The Cradle of Prayer an online ministry of prayer for Anglicans.

The Book of Common Prayer

The Book of Common Prayer has served as the primary source for liturgy and prayer for Anglicans for more than 450 years. Saint Albans continues that tradition though the use of the Book of Common Prayer (2003).  We invite you to use the BCP for your own prayer and devotions, a copy of which may be downloaded here.
